PWA Properties is proud to recognize Co-Founder and Executive Vice President Cohl Morgan for establishing the Vols Beat Cancer Scholarship Endowment at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This lasting initiative is designed to support students who are battling cancer while pursuing their education.
A Knoxville native and University of Tennessee graduate, Morgan created the scholarship following his own diagnosis with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in March 2025. Faced with the challenges of cancer treatment at just 27 years old, Morgan became determined to transform a difficult personal experience into an opportunity to help others. After researching available resources, he discovered there were limited scholarship opportunities specifically available for UT students facing a cancer diagnosis. That realization led to the creation of the Vols Beat Cancer Scholarship Endowment.
The scholarship provides financial assistance to University of Tennessee students who have been diagnosed with cancer, helping alleviate some of the financial burdens that often accompany treatment and recovery. By reducing financial stress, the endowment allows students to focus on both their health and their academic goals. Because the scholarship is endowed, it will continue supporting students for generations to come.
“From the moment I received my diagnosis, I knew I wanted to find a way to create something positive from the experience,” said Morgan. “The University of Tennessee has played a significant role in my life, and I wanted to ensure that students facing similar challenges have access to support when they need it most.”
Morgan earned his degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business in 2019, graduating summa cum laude. Since then, he has built an impressive career in commercial real estate, earning recognition as a Knox News 40 Under 40 recipient and East Tennessee Realtors Rising Star Award winner. In 2025, he co-founded PWA Properties, a full-service commercial real estate brokerage, development, and design firm serving clients throughout Tennessee and beyond.
The creation of the Vols Beat Cancer Scholarship Endowment reflects Morgan’s commitment not only to professional excellence, but also to serving others and strengthening the Volunteer community. Inspired by the University of Tennessee’s Torchbearer spirit, the scholarship embodies the belief that personal adversity can become an opportunity to create lasting impact for others.
Through this endowment, Morgan’s legacy will extend far beyond the real estate industry, providing hope, encouragement, and financial support to students facing one of life’s most difficult challenges.
